Travis nodded at that. "I play the guitar too. And no, I'm not any good." he replied to her. At least that was what he thought. Okay so maybe he just have this bad habit of downing himself sometimes. But hey, bad habits are hard to break right?
A small smile played over his lips. "Think I can take a peek on that song of yours?" he figured to ask.
"Don't worry, I don't plan on stealing it or anything. I don't write songs. Hell I can't even sing, I just know how to play the guitar."

Lola watched him. Even with a cute little smile, something about him was much more appealing then the average male. It was cute. Maybe a bit more then cute. But it was why she found herself pushing her notebook towards him. "A lot of them are rough drafts, not... final. But they're ideas. Or one's that pop into my head randomly." She told him, nodding towards the notebook.
In her dorm, the floor of her closet was littered with notebooks. There had to be at least fifty, if not a whole lot more. She always kept one with her, because she never knew when the inspiration would strike. To jot down this lyric or that lyric. She was hardly ever unprepared.

Travis creased his brows slightly as he parted his hands and took her notebook. He opened it and looked inside. He furrowed his brows even more.
"Ever finished a song?" he asked without looking up. Well, from the looks of it, she was good. He could tell. He couldn't quite explain it but she looked like a good songwriter. Or writer in general for that matter.

Lola nodded. "Quite a few of them, actually. But those, I keep in another journal that no one can read." She added with a secretive smirk, eyeing him as he glanced down at her thoughts poised against the white paper. Uncrossing her legs once more, Lola glanced down at her lap, her hands moving to fiddle with the edge of her black skirt billowing around her thighs. The Dean had already had a chat with her about her... choice of clothing, or lack there of, but she was over eighteen. What in God's name did it really matter?
But then... He'd been more trying to get under her skirt rather then really trying to talk her out of wearing such clothes. A smirk graced her lips. Maybe she hadn't lost her touch completely.

Travis lifted his gaze up as he heard her response. Pursing his lips, he shrugged slightly. "Oh well then tough luck for me then. You're a very good writer." he figured to say to her. It was the truth. At least to him that was the case. He offered her a smile.
No. He wasn't trying to get her to show him those songs. Okay well maybe he was. Hey, can you really blame him for being curious? She really was a good writer.

At the compliment, she felt a ghost of a blush creep over her cheeks. Or maybe it had just been her imagination. "Why thank you." She replied kindly, reaching for the notebook in front of him, pulling it back out of his reach as she moved to close it. It wasn't that she wasn't used to compliments, but his seemed actually genuine.
And she had to admit. She was impressed. He'd been in her prescence for a full fifteen minutes and hadn't once looked away from her eyes. That's what had Lola wondering if she'd lost her touch. But maybe, he just might be a gentleman. They were rare to find, but definately real. He could just be one of those and she simply had to offer him a dazzling smile, before her eyes fell back to the table in front of her.

Travis smiled at that. "You're welcome." he replied back to her. Ah yes, he can be polite. Although back then, when he was younger, politeness was out of the question. If anything, he was a jerk. A smart ass jerk. Of course through the years and under the guidance of his counselour, he changed. For the better.
Pressing his lips, he took a quick glance at his table and then back at her. He creased his brows.
"I do hope you don't take this the wrong way but you think we can do this over coffee or something? It's not a date or anything, but this is the library. We don't want the librarian shushing us or anything..."

Lifting her green eyes back to him, she slowly nodded with a shrug. "Sure, I don't see why not? I have to go back to my room to get Mandy, though." She said, reaching for her purse as she shoved her notebook down inside of it. Purse/Bookbag, whatever. It held enough. "Mandy's my dog." She added with a soft laugh, so he wouldn't be confused. They weren't allowed to have dogs in the dorms, but she'd... managed to be persuasive.
It was amazing what a few wild acts could get a person. She'd been provided animal rights. Huh. Whether that was good or bad, Lola didn't quite necessarily think either way about it. She'd gotten what she wanted. And that's all that mattered.

Travis creased his brows. Mandy? He was about to ask when she already gave him an answer.
"Mandy's my dog."
"Oh okay. Wait, you have a dog in your room? Ain't that against the rules?" he figured to point out. But then again, she looked like she wasn't one who obeys the rules. He had to stifle a smirk that threatened to leave his lips. One, he was one for not following any rules. Well at least most of them. And second, well he can't help but feel attracted to this girl. Of course, he really wouldn't go far beyond inviting her over coffee. He was after all not the boyfriend kind. At least that was what he thought.
