Personality: Caitlin is, for the most part, an outgoing girl. For the duration of her high school career she was athletic and outgoing, both qualities that she still holds. She is somebody who is incredibly loyal when she trusts someone, but to let someone ultimately close is something that she finds hard to do. She has some barriers up due to fear. She is generally a confident person who enjoys being outgoing and visiting clubs and going out with her girlfriends.
Past:
Caitlin Moore was born to a single mother, and an older brother in a small town in New York State, Port Byron. Her father has never been in the picture, and her mother has always struggled to care for her two children. Growing up she was always a happy and active child, easily able to make friends. And as she grew up she was always close to her older brother, Brian. He always had his friends over, and above all he was quite simply her older brother. Although there was usually a struggle for her mother with money, especially as her brother went off to college, she remained close to the both of them.
While her brother was away at college her mother grew ill and was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the age of sixteen, Caitlin's mother died. Brian dropped out of college to raise his sister, knowing that his mother would have wanted that. Never having a father figure, she had no other family to care for her. So, instead of going to college to become a teacher he found a full time job to support him and his younger sister. Things seemed to be going pretty well, despite her mother's death, Caitlin continued on with life as though her life hadn't changed. It was her defense-- maybe if she acted as though nothing had changed, everything would seem as it always has.
It seemed as though both Brian and Caitlin had moved on. Caitlin graduated from high school, and was getting ready for college, it was during summer break when Caitlin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Currently she is going through chemotherapy, in hopes that she won't have to have a bone marrow transplant. She tries not to let on to anyone that there is something physically wrong with her. She's always been an athlete and always been happy-- and she doesn't want anything to change that.
So, despite her brother's arguments she went along with her plans and moved to Florida to attend the University of Miami, and like a 'normal' college life. Or, that is, as normal as college life can be in and out of the oncology unit.
x Sample RP x: [note: from a different board, with the same character] Caitlin Moore leaned back in the front seat of her brother's Cavalier, glancing over at him for a moment. "So, you really think that this is something that I need?" Her tone was calm, easy, and almost understanding. She wasn't freaking out, or scared. She was okay with it. If nothing else she would meet new people, and that was something for her. Caitlin was good with people, but she never let them too close-- not close enough to see past her smiles.
"It is, sweetie."
Shrugging her shoulders lightly, Caitlin offered him a gentle smile. "Okay." As he pulled up the drive she unbuckled. Helping her with her bags, Brian helped her to the door.
"Take care of yourself-- I'll come visit you soon."
"I know, I love you Bri." Placing a kiss on her older brother's cheek, she wrapped her arms around him for a moment before offering him a tiny wave. "I'll be fine." She assured him before she lifted her hand to knock on the door, bags at her feet. As she waited, Caitlin shifted her weight, pushing the long blonde strands of her wig behind her ear.
